Crews rush to contain brush fire near Laguna Niguel homes
Orange County firefighters rushed to a Laguna Niguel neighborhood to extinguish flames burning near homes Wednesday afternoon. The brush fire started on the hillside near Ridgeway Avenue and Alcott Place at around 3:30 p.m. Crews quickly doused the flames as the fire burned vegetation dangerously close to several homes.
Crews stop growth of Beacon fire that prompted an evacuation in Laguna Niguel
The Beacon fire was reported near Alcott Place and Ridgeway Avenue around 3:30 p.m., according to Watch Duty, a nonprofit that tracks wildfires. The area has numerous tracts of homes to the south and more homes across the hill to the north, as well as Chapparosa Park.
