Firefighters with air support scrambled to control a wind-driven wildfire that erupted Thursday morning in hills along Interstate 5 in northwestern Los Angeles County, officials said.

King Fire initially started 1:04 a.m. Aug. 14 in Los Angeles County, California. After being active for two days, it has burned 591.2 acres. By Saturday evening, 80% of this fire was brought under containment. However, the cause is still under investigation.

The King Fire ignited around 70 miles northwest of Los Angeles on Thursday morning and quickly grew to nearly 500 acres.

The Longview Police Department says several of its detectives traveled to Los Angeles as part of the homicide investigation on Terumi Lane.

Hawk Fire initially started 3:03 p.m. Aug. 14 in Los Angeles County, California. After being active for 38 hours, it has burned 300 acres. By Saturday morning, the fire crew succeeded in containing 76% of this wildfire. The cause of it remains under investigation.

The charity event will feature professional boxing along with matchups between Santa Monica police and firefighters.
