Charges have been dismissed against a man who was facing attempted kidnapping and other charges after a mother accused him of trying to grab her 2-year-old son from her at a Georgia Walmart, court records show.

Charges have been dropped against a man accused of attempting to kidnap a 2-year-old boy at a Walmart in Georgia. Mahendra Patel, of Kennesaw, was arrested and subsequently indicted by a grand jury on attempted kidnapping, battery and assault charges stemming from an incident reported at a Walmart in Acworth on March 18.

ATLANTA, GA – Charges of attempted kidnapping and assault have been dropped against Mahendra Patel, a 57-year-old man from Georgia, after prosecutors concluded their review of the case. Patel had been jailed for six weeks following an incident at a Walmart in March.
