Ryland Headley was convicted this week in the killing of 75-year-old Louisa Dunne. The police used DNA evidence to solve what had been one of Britain’s oldest cold cases.

Headley, who was found guilty of killing 75-year-old Ms Dunne at her home in the city in 1967, in what is thought to be the UK's longest cold case to reach trial, was told by the judge, "you will die in prison".

Ryland Headley has been brought to justice almost six decades after he brutally attacked and killed an elderly woman in her home in 1967. The 92-year-old was found guilty of the rape and murder of Louisa Dunne at Bristol Crown Court on Monday 30 June, after a review was launched by Avon and Somerset Police into her death.
