Bird also ranks in the Top 10 in the WNBA's all-time scoring list with 6,803 career points. On Thursday, however, the 44-year-old lost her spot on the esteemed list as former WNBA MVP Nneka Ogwumike rewrote the history books.

The Seattle Storm will unveil a statue of former franchise star Sue Bird on August 17, making the four-time champion the first player to be honored with their own statue by a WNBA franchise.

Bird spent her entire 21-year WNBA career with the Storm. She's not only recognized as a franchise icon, but as one of the best WNBA players of all-time. After retiring following the 2022 WNBA season, Bird was quickly inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as part of its 2025 class.
