February 7, 2001 / 5:15 PM EST / CBS Dale Evans, the singer-actress who teamed with husband Roy Rogers in popular Westerns and co-wrote their theme song, Happy Trails to You, died Wednesday at 88.
To mark the 100th anniversary of Dale Evans’ birth on Oct. 31, 1912, we are seeking memories of the legendary movie star who lived in town from 1965 until her death in 2001.
Ms. Evans played the role of "Queen of the West," while Rogers was known as "King of the Cowboys." She rode her horse, Buttermilk, beside him on his celebrated palomino, Trigger. Rogers died in 1998.
