Mayor Kate Gallego and other leaders visited the Islamic Center of North Phoenix following a paintball gun incident being deemed a hate crime.

A suspect was arrested on suspicion of shooting paintballs at a Phoenix mosque over the weekend, authorities said.

The Department of Homeland Security said the suspect, who was killed in the attack, was a 41-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in Lebanon. Officials are still searching for a motive.
