Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick have issued statements regarding the flooding in the Hill Country of Texas, urging Texans to heed local officials' guidance and mobilizing emergency response resources to assist affected areas.

Gov. Greg Abbott said the state has mobilized “all necessary resources” to parts of the Texas Hill Country hit with “devastating” and deadly flooding Friday.

Governor Greg Abbott announced a state-based disaster declaration for 13 counties affected by the Hill Country floods, and confirmed 24 fatalities, while Texas Task Force 1 and 2 are working nonstop to find missing people and provide support to those affected.
