Marcus Freeman is one of the best football coaches in the country, regardless of level. Since taking over the Notre Dame program in full as its head coach in 2022, Freeman has posted a 43-11 mark. The Fighting Irish also made an appearance in the College Football Playoff national championship game during the 2024 season.

The Buffalo Bills are hunting for a new head coach after Sean McDermott‘s departure. Mike Tomlin looks like a perfect fit on paper with his track record.

Sean McDermott went down fighting for Buffalo, both at the postgame lectern in the Mile High City and from 35,000 feet on the flight home, insisting over and over that it was a catch and the Bills should be the ones moving on.

McDermott feels like a prime candidate to get the Cardinals out from the bottom of the NFL standings. He had seven straight 10+ win season with the Bills, and while their roster is clearly head and shoulders above Arizona's, there's still some solid pieces for McDermott to work with.

Players who ended the season on Buffalo’s practice squad who were not signed to reserve/future deals include cornerback/return specialist Brandon Codrington, kicker Matthew Wright, quarterback Shane Buechele, defensive ends Matthew Judon and Shaq Lawson, and wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson.
