Texas House Democrats have returned to Austin for a second special session after fleeing the state to block a redistricting effort by Republicans in the state.

Multiple sources say Texas House Democrats who left the state to prevent a vote on new congressional maps will return to Texas.

The Texas State House of Representatives could vote as early as this week on the state's controversial congressional redistricting plan after Gov. Greg Abbott called a second special legislative session with Democrats ending their boycott and returning to the state.
