GM could be about to get the largest of those fleets by increasing their number of test vehicles, Chevy Bolt EVs with Cruise Automation’s sensor suite, from just 50 to 300.

GM said it was important to set a record only after optimizing the vehicle in ways real customers could replicate at home.

Though Cruise is no more, GM has made clear that it plans to continue developing a 'scalable' autonomous vehicle platform for personal ownership.
