The initial belief that inspired the Golden State Warriors to make Jonathan Kuminga the No. 7 pick of the 2021 NBA draft has surely been shaken across his four uneven seasons together.

The Golden State Warriors have been linked with Al Horford since free agency started a few days ago. The former Boston Celtics center, a 39-year old All-Star and NBA champion, could be a big pickup in the Bay Area. But a deal hasn't gotten done yet, and there might be a Warriors-related reason: Jonathan Kuminga.

Kuminga sounds like he's ready to leave the Warriors, but there have been a litany of complications to get him to a new NBA team. While he could just sign an offer sheet with a team, the Warriors have the ability to match the contract and retain him, so signing the offer sheet likely would keep him in Golden State.
