Walmart has lowered the prices on thousands of summer items like beef and other favorites for a barbecue.

President Trump on Monday sought to take credit for recent price cuts by Walmart, but a statement by the retailer made no mention of the administration’s involvement in its decision.

"This summer, Walmart and Sam's Club are helping customers and members save more with thousands of lower prices," the retailers announced Monday.
