The confrontation unfolded around 9:46 p.m. near West 173rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue, when the officer was approached by two men riding separately on mopeds. According to NYPD officials, one of the men got off his vehicle, asked the officer if he knew a specific individual, and then displayed a firearm.
Police are looking for the driver who they say hit a bicyclist in Washington Heights on Sunday afternoon and then took off.
