💳 The MTA board voted 11-0 on Tuesday to increase fares for subway, bus, LIRR and Metro-North riders starting early next year. On Jan. 4, the base fare for subways and buses will go from $2.90 to $3. The MetroCard will also become totally obsolete as OMNY is fully adopted.
