An urgent manhunt is underway for a “high risk” prisoner who has absconded from custody while being treated at a hospital.Marwan Jumaa, who is currently serving a custodial sentence for assault, escaped after being transferred from a secure hospital facility to North Manchester Hospital for medical treatment. He has been identified as Saleem Shastri Gopaul, 28, of Taitt Street, Chaguanas. According to reports, Saleem's relatives were unable to contact him and broke down his bedroom door, where they found him on his back. The man was reportedly a pharmacist at SuperPharm. Back in 2023, his father Shastri Gopaul was shot and killed at a quarry site in Santa Cruz. In an interview with the Trinidad Express, Saleem lamented that he was unable to say goodbye to his father.
