Today, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was proud to participate in Yerington Elementary School’s “Zero to Hero” celebration in honor of the 100th day of school. It was a fantastic event recognizing the students’ hard work and dedication throughout the school year. The Nevada State Police - Highway Patrol and the Lyon County Sheriff's Office - Nevada joined forces on July 2 for a traffic safety campaign in the area of US 50 and SR 439 from 6am to Noon. 130 traffic stops were made resulting in 107 citations and 2 arrests. Speeding and impairment continue to be the leading contributors to fatal crashes on Nevada’s roadways. The Nevada Highway Patrol, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement partners across state are committed to keeping Nevada safe.
