Our polar bears, Little One and Anana, got live rainbow trout and largemouth bass as enrichment. Our care teams use enrichment on a daily basis to keep animals healthy by encouraging physical activity and mental stimulation. Enrichment is anything added to the animals’ environment to stimulate their senses and elicit natural behaviors such as foraging, exploration, hunting, problem-solving, and even play.
